The route made of stiff ground rammed by
tractors had a road of abundance of tiny white stones, a small yard
separating it from the cropland and a long series of sycamores
running along the side of the path constituted this divine place
called 'The Wood of Plane' accessible to David after his constant
strolls through the cropland. This place is worthy of an admirable
description but more than that, because of this beautiful tale of
David and Laura that grew around this world. The story is shaped
based on this huge catastrophic event called the 'Great Divide', an
explosion that destroyed ancient worlds to their entirety along with
the mortals dwelling on them.
The souls of those who were killed exist as a
residue in other existing worlds including ours that the mortals of
Earth cannot detect. It is the story of those spirits trying to
acknowledge their origins and we see that through the tale of David
and Laura. This is not a tale whose first fifty words will decide if
you want to read it next 500 because it doesn't hold any such
element like that of suspense or thriller which could drive a
reader's interest. However, its captivating nature is a result of
its divinely inscribed story.
More than just a story where one could
understand and comprehend the characters and plots, it touches
certain higher aspects of the reader's perspective. Introspection
would be one such fundamental standpoint for this novel. Other than
that, it is characterized by the themes of personal development and
self-discovery. The author's writing was filled with minute details
but a sense of calm due to which its monotonic nature is not tiring
at all. It feels like this is what the whole purpose of this book is
about, discovering calm and developing a sense of intellect towards
deeper things in life. Hence, it's a thought-provoking novel, that
definitely anyone can read and gain a lot from.
