Philosophical dilemas have haunted us from the
ancient time to recognise our true soul. Domenico Corna in 'Wood of
Plane' strives for knowing that eternal knowledge of self search.
The author explores people's craving for self-knowledge in a
spiritual, hopeless, and lonely environment by creating an
alternative reality. Imagining lost souls from an ancient world the
author creates a fairy tale land where they are gathering to bring
back their old memories. Alternate reality is amazing to notice to
break free from the earthen rules. David and Laura are fantastic to
notice with their abilities to connect with nature. I also enjoyed
how meditative qualities come into play connecting with the souls.
The author amazingly analyse emotions behind human sacrifice and
struggles.
I was stunned to notice the author's
capabilities to build up the story line with beautiful lyrical prose
and amazing narrative style. The philosophical angle to view life
differently with striking world creation demand attention. I also
loved the psychological sketch of amazing lead characters like
David, Laura and other side characters with different motivations.
The magic system with the world creation is great that I was in awe
of the author's capabilities. Truly speaking 'Wood of Plane' is an
awesome book with such unique theme to search for eternal
philosophical questions that have haunted human minds for long. But
if anything has baffled me to my best then it was author's merging
an alternate reality to speculate over real world problems with
philosophical point of view so easily. It was surely a great read
and I highly recommend this one to any fantasy fan who loves a
philosophical touch to search for deeper meanings life.
