Domenico Corna in his latest novel 'Wood of
Plane' not only presents an engrossing fairy tale but delivers
philosophical thoughts over human beings' existential identity and
meaning of life. In this story he shows, ancient souls are scattered
in various dimensions after a great explosion. Some of them comes in
earth and are coexisting with us. They have lost their old memories
and experiences but they have an unique magical connection with
nature. To get back their memories and escape our earthly chaos they
must gather all of their old souls in Wood of Plane. But that's not
an easy feat to achieve. Some of our people of earth too want to
attain an alternate reality to be free from mundane chaos and
fruitless routine life. The meditational power to connect with old
souls are super impressive. Human feelings of depression, anxiety,
loneliness are finely sketched to show our world's follies that we
can leave behind.
I must appreciate the author's ability to
provide such beautiful lyrical prose to support the unique narrative
technique that captures different dimensions and time lines. It's
fantastic to notice such alternate world creation that provides the
space to ask important questions of human existence and self
knowledge. Prime topics like loneliness, despair, spirituality all
come together under the craftful writing of the author. Different
dimensions and spaces merge effortlessly with a melancholy
atmosphere that would enchant the reader to its pages. Beautiful
central characters along with motivated side characters are another
gem of this novel that suits the plotline with apt dialogues that
make the reader think. Multidimensional world creation is another
great feat for the author to achieve in support of this story line.
The magic system of the world with supernatural abilities is of top
notch quality. 'Wood of Plane' is a great work that wants to explore
philosophical questions that matter today amidst the fast life of
today's world. I loved the novel so much that I think this work is
equivalent to the work of Philip K D that explores individuality. I
want to recommend this to any serious book lover who engages with
books more deeply.
