Part 2
For several days Minichi learned Bob’s habits
until it was time to make the first attempts. He went to the bar
where he used to eat breakfast. He recognized and greeted, as his
habit, every customer.
Being devout frequenter of the church in that
area, did not avoid entering and exchange a few words with the
pastor.
“Remember the promise” the pastor interrupted
while Minichi was leaving.
He was shivered—not aware of any of the
promises. “Are you kidding?” Minichì asked, turning to him. “You
always have good intentions to ask because be fulfilled. I keep a
long list at home. To which must I give priority?”
The pastor lowered and shook his head. “You’re
right!” he added. “Your memory of our dialogues does not surprise
me. I was talking about Mrs. Jenkins. She will soon lose her home if
we don’t give her help. She needs to find a job to support herself.”
“Mrs. Jenkins...” Minichi whispered. “Who
could ever forget her situation?” He approached the pastor placing a
hand on his shoulder. “We’ll fix Mrs. Jenkins too, don’t worry.”
The pastor nodded smiling. “You will see, Lord
will always be on your side!” he whispered. “I have always known it
but one day you will realize, I am sure!”
Minichì laughed shaking his head “Here we are
all working for him!” he whispered in the pastor’s ear, who nodded
laughing in turn.
